A great folded leaflet starts with a great fold! The choice of fold will determine how your leaflet will be read and distributed, as well as the actual content of the folded up leaflet.
Half Fold
Half Fold. A simple Fold down the middle of the A4 sheet of paper, creating a 4 page folded leaflet with an A5 size (210mm x 297mm) of A4 paper. If posted in a C5 envelope, it folds in easily. A Half Fold is ideal for straight forward information such as an event program, or a simple priced list.
Tri-Fold (Letter Fold)
This fold creates three panels of roughly equal size which can be used as individual sections within the folded leaflet. It is the most common format for brochures, menus and many other types of printed materials and is often referred to simply as a ‘letter fold’.
Z-Fold
A Z-Fold allows the content to be laid out in three panels. A Z-Fold is particularly effective for producing step-by-step guides, and for maps, as the leaflet will unfold in a straight line.
Gatefold
A Gatefold fold is used for Folded Leaflets where two outer panels are folded inwards to meet at the middle of the leaflet. The folds are set so that when the leaflet is opened, there is a reveal. This fold is often used for Product Launches or Event Invitations where first impressions count!
Accordion Fold

Cross Fold
As you can tell from the name this fold is similar to the Half Fold, the sheet is folded in half one way, then folded again the other way. This creates a compact booklet with eight panels. This fold is ideal for guides that are to be carried in a pocket, in a display stand, etc.
